The county's own locator page describes the system as covering people currently housed in the Mesa County Detention Facility and their current bond. That scope is narrow but useful. It means the roster is the first place to check when a person has just been arrested by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Grand Junction Police, Fruita Police, Palisade Police, Colorado State Patrol, or another agency that books adult custodial arrests into the Rice Street jail.
The locator is not a full archive. It does not provide a released-inmate tab, booking-date range, charge search, housing filter, mugshot filter, or facility dropdown. The inspected profiles showed current booking details and bond or open-charge messages, but they did not show a booking photo, housing unit, physical description, address, court case number, or projected release date. When a person was booked recently but no longer appears in the current-custody search, the Mesa County Blotter Reports system is the next official online source because it posts daily Booking Summary Reports for the last 30 days.

Mesa County Inmate Profile

Daily Booking Summary PDFs provide a different record view. They list people booked during the prior 24 hours of the report date and may include name, booking datetime, DOB, gender, brought-in-by officer or agency code, address when published, and charge rows. The PDFs do not show bond and did not show mugshots in the inspected sample.

The records route is formal. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office Records Unit is at 215 Rice Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501, and the records lobby is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Mesa County Booking Records
Mesa County's Detentions Division says MCDF accepts arrestees from local, state, and federal law-enforcement agencies in the county. Booking begins when the arresting agency brings the person to the jail. Staff process the person in Booking, collect property and custody data, and begin screening. The facility history page says newly arrested inmates may stay in Booking until they are assigned housing based on classification. Some bond out before housing, and some people needing extra supervision may remain in Booking.
Intake also includes medical and mental-health screening. The programs page says nurses conduct medical health assessments and that immediate medical or mental-health issues are addressed during booking. Classification then helps the jail separate males and females, co-defendants, violent and nonviolent inmates, and special-management needs. First-time advisements occur by video from inside the facility, while other court proceedings may use the secure tunnel to the Mesa County Justice Center.

Mesa County Inmate Contact
After a Mesa County inmate records search confirms custody, communication and funds use separate vendor paths. Inmates cannot receive regular phone calls at the Detention Facility. Personal mail is sent to a scanning address, then delivered digitally to tablets. The personal mail format is Mesa County Detention Facility, inmate full name and booking number, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Legal mail still goes directly to the Detention Facility. Paperback books and magazines must come straight from approved publishers or accepted online sellers and use the Grand Junction P.O. Box 20000-5017 format.

Mesa County Notifications
Colorado VINE is a notification tool, not a complete Mesa County inmate records database. The Mesa County District Attorney's victim notification page says VINE sends automatic alerts when an offender's custody status changes, and in Mesa County it applies to inmates housed in the Mesa County Detention Facility. Registration can be done through VINELink or by calling 888-263-8463. The DA page says first and last name are needed, and alerts can be sent by phone, email, or text with a four-digit PIN.
